Heavy old shield with the coat of arms of the Soviet Union. It was once painted and now there a pieces of it on this shield. Made of aluminium.
The State Emblem of the Soviet Union was adopted in 1923 and was used until the dissolution of the USSR in 1991. Although it technically is an emblem rather than a coat of arms, since it does not follow traditional heraldic rules, in Russian it is called герб (gerb), the word used for a traditional coat of arms.
It was the first state insignia created in the style known as socialist heraldry, a style also seen in emblems of other socialist countries such as the emblem of the People’s Republic of China. At first there were some different versions but in 1956 the design of the emblem was redrawn by Ivan Dubasov. In his first draft, slogans were placed on a red ribbon covering the lower part of the coat of arms. Then it was decided to place mottos in 6 languages on the tape.

Soviet Union space pin. The pin says:”Cosmonautics Day”.
Cosmonautics Day is an anniversary celebrated in Russia and some other former USSR countries on 12 April. In 2011, 12 April was declared as the International Day of Human Space Flight in dedication of the first manned space flight made on 12 April 1961 by the 27-year-old Russian Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. The commemorative day was established in the Soviet Union one year later, on 9 April 1962.

On 7 April 2011, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution declaring 12 April as the International Day of Human Space Flight.

This pin is about Russia’s first steamship built in 1815.
On the top the pin says:”First Steamship” on the bottom it says:”Elizaveta”.
Charles Baird (1766-1843) was a Scottish engineer who played an important part in the industrial and business life of 19th-century St. Petersburg. His company specialised in steam driven machinery and was responsible for Russia’s first steamboat.
The Baird Works were responsible for the Elizaveta, Russia’s first steamship, launched in 1815, and this early start gave them a ten year monopoly on steamship routes from St. Petersburg, including the Elizaveta’s run to Kronstadt. They had their own wharves, and the St. Petersburg Times has said Baird helped “create a great industrial kingdom on the Neva River that is known today as Admiralty Shipyard (Admiralteiskiye Verfi), the shipbuilding company. Baird’s supplied the ironwork for several bridges, including the first cast iron arch bridge in Russia. The company also worked with the architect Auguste de Montferrand on the Alexander Column and Saint Isaac’s Cathedral, and were responsible for technical aspects of the cathedral dome design.

Pin set box issued for the anniversary of 25 years of NVA, National People’s Army.
The NVA started in 1956 so the pin box is from 1981.
The National People’s Army (NVA) was the armed forces of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) from 1956 to 1990.
The NVA was formed in 1956 to succeed the Kasernierte Volkspolizei (Barracked People’s Police) and influenced by the Soviet Army, becoming one of the Warsaw Pact militaries opposing NATO during the Cold War. The majority of NATO officers rated the NVA the best military in the Warsaw Pact based on discipline, thoroughness of training, and the quality of officer leadership.
The NVA did not see significant combat but participated in the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968, deployed military advisors to communist governments in other countries, and manned the Berlin Wall where they were responsible for numerous deaths. The NVA was dissolved in 1990 and its facilities and equipment were handed over to the Bundeswehr (the armed forces of West Germany), which also absorbed most of its personnel below the rank of non-commissioned officer.
